OC Gargoyle Kady

Ok, its been what? A few years at least since I submitted the original sketch/drawing of this toon. I originally drew her back in High School, then found her on an old website I used to use before I moved to Deviantart. So yeah...shes pretty old.

Anyway, here is the deal with her. I wanted to try something new. Mainly because I fought so much with trying to make crisp clean lines. And it just didn't seem to look right when I did get them straight. So I decided to just clean up the original art, fix it a bit and then color it.

I used a different style then I normally do. This time I did the base all at once then dodge/burned the hell out of it instead of selecting my shaded colors normally and using a waterbrush. Its not as neat but it gives it more of a feel to the picture..at least in my eyes. When I try to be perfect, it usually turns out bad. But since I didn't care about perfection; I'm quite happy with it.

Background was easy and fun for once. I normally hate doing backgrounds. Its not the best but I'm still proud of it.

Character Background:
The character's name is Kady. Shes a Gargoyle from Ireland. Thus the kilt. Of course, with the Irish comes the red/Orange hair. So I had to bring that into focus. I don't have a real age on her, after all..by the series they age differently then humans. But she would be in her early adult years if she was human.
